PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Every manuscript submitted to MADANI: Jurnal Studi Islam undergoes a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic contribution of the published articles.

The review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS).

  1. Editorial Screening

The editorial team evaluates the manuscript to ensure its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, writing format, and publication ethics standards.

  1. Plagiarism Checking

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a high level of similarity may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision.

  1. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed using a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic of the manuscript.

  1. Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

    • originality and novelty,
    • relevance to the field of Islamic Studies,
    • research methodology,
    • academic contribution,
    • clarity of presentation,
    • quality of analysis and discussion,
    • and adequacy of references.
  1. Editorial Decision
    Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide:
    • Accept Submission,
    • Revisions Required,
    • Resubmit for Review,
    • or Reject Submission.
  2. Revision Process

Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments within the specified time.

  1. Final Decision and Publication

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding publication. Accepted manuscripts will proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and publication.
