AUTHOR GUIDELINES

MADANI: Jurnal Studi Islam

A. General Requirements

  1. Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been published and are not under consideration for publication in other journals.
  2. Manuscripts may consist of research articles, conceptual papers, or scholarly reviews relevant to the journal’s focus and scope.
  3. Articles may be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English using proper academic language.
  4. Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism. The maximum similarity index allowed is 25%.
  5. All submissions must be made through the journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

B. Focus and Scope

MADANI: Jurnal Studi Islam accepts articles in the following fields:

  • Islamic Education
  • Islamic Law and Contemporary Fiqh
  • Sharia Economics and Islamic Finance
  • Islam and Health Studies
  • Professional Ethics from Islamic Perspectives
  • Da’wah and Islamic Communication
  • Religious Moderation and Multiculturalism
  • Islamic Social and Cultural Studies
  • Contemporary Islamic Thought
  • Muslim Society Studies
  • Qur’anic and Hadith Studies

C. Manuscript Structure

1. Title

  • The title should be concise, clear, and informative.
  • Maximum of 20 words.
  • Use capitalization for important words.

2. Author Information

Include:

  • Full name(s) without academic titles
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Corresponding author’s email
  • ORCID ID (if available)

3. Abstract

  • Written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Length between 150–250 words.
  • The abstract should include:
    • background,
    • objectives,
    • methods,
    • results,
    • and conclusions.

4. Keywords

  • Consist of 3–5 words or phrases.
  • Must be specific and relevant to the article.

D. Structure of Research Articles

1. Introduction

Contains:

  • research background,
  • problem formulation,
  • research objectives,
  • brief literature review,
  • and research novelty.

2. Research Method

Explains:

  • research design,
  • research location/subjects,
  • data collection techniques,
  • and data analysis methods.

3. Results and Discussion

Contains:

  • research findings,
  • data analysis,
  • interpretation,
  • and discussion linked to relevant theories or previous studies.

4. Conclusion

Contains:

  • answers to the research objectives,
  • main findings,
  • and brief recommendations.

5. References

  • Use the latest APA Style citation format.
  • Minimum of 15 references.
  • Priority should be given to primary sources and publications from the last 10 years.

E. Manuscript Format

  • Manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words.
  • Paper size: A4.
  • Margins: 3 cm on all sides.
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt.
  • Line spacing: 1.5.
  • Titles should be bolded.
  • Subheadings should use consistent numbering.

F. Citation and References

  1. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:
    • Mendeley,
    • Zotero,
    • or EndNote.
  2. Citations and references must follow the latest APA Style edition.
  3. References should primarily come from:
    • scholarly journals,
    • academic books,
    • and other reliable sources.

G. Review Process

  1. Each manuscript will undergo:
    • initial editorial screening,
    • plagiarism checking,
    • and peer review.
  2. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process.
  3. Editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that do not fit the journal’s focus and scope or fail to meet academic standards.

H. Publication Ethics

Authors must:

  • uphold academic integrity,
  • avoid data fabrication and falsification,
  • and properly acknowledge all cited sources.

Information regarding Article Processing Charges (APC) will be provided through the journal website or by the editorial team.
