PLAGIARISM SCREENING

CENDEKIA: Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisipliner is committed to upholding academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published manuscripts.

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening as part of the initial editorial process before entering peer review.

Screening Process

Manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software to identify textual similarity and potential overlap with previously published works.

The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully to distinguish between acceptable similarity (such as references, quotations, and standard methodological descriptions) and problematic overlap.

Similarity Threshold

The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 25%, excluding:

  • bibliography and references
  • properly cited quotations
  • common academic phrases or technical terminology

Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold may be:

  • returned to authors for revision and correction, or
  • rejected directly if significant plagiarism or unethical overlap is identified

Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

The journal does not tolerate:

  • direct plagiarism
  • self-plagiarism
  • paraphrasing plagiarism without proper citation
  • duplicate publication
  • data or figure plagiarism

Editorial Action

If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript may be rejected or returned for revision.

If plagiarism is identified after publication, the editorial board reserves the right to:

  • issue corrections
  • retract the article
  • remove the article from publication records if necessary

These actions are conducted in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and academic integrity policies.
