Peer Review Process

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Online Submission: Authors must submit their manuscripts through the online journal management system at https://ejournal.mediaedukasi.org/index.php/askes/.

  • Initial Screening: The editor will conduct an initial check to ensure the manuscript complies with the author guidelines and falls within the journal’s scope.

2. Initial Assessment

  • Eligibility: The editor assesses the manuscript based on topic relevance, research novelty, and writing quality.

  • Plagiarism Check: Manuscripts are checked using anti-plagiarism software. Those with a similarity index above 25% will be rejected.

3. Reviewer Assignment

  • Reviewer Selection: The editor assigns two or more independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's topic.

  • Reviewer Invitation: Reviewers are invited to review the manuscript and are requested to respond within a specified timeframe.

4. Review Process

  • Double-Blind Review: ASKES: Jurnal Agama, Sains & Kesehatan applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both author and reviewer identities are concealed.

  • Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodology, scientific contribution, validity of results, and clarity of writing.

  • Review Report: Reviewers submit a report that includes comments, suggestions for improvement, and a recommendation (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject).

5. Editorial Decision

  • Report Evaluation: The editor evaluates the review reports and makes a decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

  • Communication with Author: The decision is communicated to the author along with the review reports to provide constructive feedback.

    • Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication with no or minor changes.

    • Minor Revision: Authors are requested to make small changes and resubmit the revised manuscript within a specified period.

    • Major Revision: Authors are required to make substantial changes and resubmit the revised manuscript for re-evaluation.

    • Rejected: The manuscript is rejected, typically due to quality concerns or lack of relevance to the journal.

6. Manuscript Revision

  • Author Revisions: Authors revise and resubmit the manuscript based on the reviewers’ comments and suggestions.

  • Re-Review: The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation, especially if major changes were requested.

7. Publication Preparation

  • Proofreading: Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes proofreading to correct grammar and formatting errors.

  • Layout and Design: The manuscript is then formatted according to the journal’s style and prepared for publication.

8. Publication

  • Online Publication: Approved articles are published online on the journal’s website.

  • Open Access: ASKES: Jurnal Agama, Sains & Kesehatan operates under an open access policy, making articles freely available to the public.

9. Right to Appeal

  • Appeal of Decision: Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions by providing a well-reasoned argument. The editor will consider the appeal and may request an additional review if necessary.
